In mid-May, the boss of the Basel branch of the Hells Angels will appear before the Basel criminal court for various property crimes. He is said to have made money from illegal activities, such as selling fake Covid certificates.
According to ’20 Minutes’, the indictment mentions a prominent name among the buyers of these certificates: Breel Embolo (27). At the beginning of February 2021, a laboratory accomplice of the Hells Angels representative is said to have issued two travel tickets with the footballer’s data.
The suspect then forwarded the forms via WhatsApp to the striker, who was still under contract with Gladbach at the time. The negative result would have come from the said laboratory technician, who would have taken it from himself. According to the report, a separate case has been filed against her for falsification of documents.
This fact could also be Embolo’s downfall. The footballer, who was sentenced to a suspended fine by the Basel criminal court in June 2023 for making multiple threats, could face reprisals because the use of forged certificates is also punishable.
