Former Nati striker and current Aarau coach Alex Frei (44) complained vehemently to the fourth official after the match in Schaffhausen without knocking. A procedure followed.
The disciplinary judge has now decided not to investigate the case further. The Swiss Football League (SFL) wrote in a statement that it believed that “the referee’s explanation and the statements of Alex Frei and FC Aarau in the present case do not reveal sufficiently clear facts” that would justify disciplinary action.
At the beginning of February, Frei was suspended for three matches for an obscene gesture towards the spectators in Baden. (SDA)
