Artistic gymnast Taha Serhani announces his retirement. The 29-year-old from Winterthur ends his career after the Olympic Games in Paris.

Serhani, who has been part of the Swiss national team for nine years, is currently preparing for the European Championships at the end of April. In Rimini he was able to participate in continental title fights for the fifth time. The two selection matches will take place this week in Magglingen.

Last fall, Serhani was part of the team that secured participation in the games in the French capital with a 7th place at the World Championships in Antwerp.

The Swiss high bar champion remains active in artistic gymnastics even after his retirement. At the beginning of September he will take up a coaching position in the youth sector at the regional performance center of the Artistic Gymnastics Association Lucerne, Obwalden and Nidwalden. He will also attend Lucerne University of Education. (SDA)
