Resignation after 19 years: Matthias Remund steps down as director of Baspo.

Matthias Remund (60) will step down as director of the Federal Office for Sport (BASPO) at the end of October after 19 years.

Remund will become secretary general of the International University Sports Federation (FISU) in January. He has been director of FOSPO since April 1, 2005, when he replaced Heinz Keller. In the almost twenty years since then, FOSPO has succeeded in massively developing Swiss sports financing.

Remund, a former cross-country skier, worked as a sports official for the Swiss Ski Association (Nordic Ski Area) and the Bern Young Boys (2003 and 2004) before 2005. (SDA)
