Against bottom team Darmstadt, Bayern Munich fell behind after just under half an hour. But then the German record champions turned up the heat – partly thanks to Jamal Musiala. The twenty-year-old played the opponent dizzy and played a key role in the ultimately clear 5-2 victory with three goals. He made it 1-0 from close range, for the 3-1 he dribbled around four opponents in the penalty area and set up Gnabry’s 4-1 in an exemplary manner.
No wonder Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel became enraptured after the match. “Jamal has been very decisive in the match in recent weeks,” he said at the press conference. “We are always happy with him, the potential is excellent.”
Hardworking and very, very good level
Musiala’s stats are also excellent. He has collected sixteen goals (ten goals and six assists) this Bundesliga season, nine of which have come in the last five games. He is certainly in good shape.
