Philipp Kurashev is celebrated by his teammates.

Philipp Kurashev personally sets new standards in his 250th NHL game. The Swiss striker set a career-high with two goals and two assists in the Chicago Blackhawks’ 7-2 home win against the Anaheim Ducks.

Kurashev thus surpasses his previous record of three scorer points (one goal and two assists), which he set in January last year and equalized in November. His forward Connor Bedard, the 18-year-old No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, also has a career-high with one goal and four assists.

For Chicago it is only the seventh victory in the 30th game since the turn of the year. However, with three wins from their last four games, the Blackhawks are currently on a bit of a high and are only now the second-worst team in the league in terms of points (ahead of the San Jose Sharks).

With an assist to the 100th goal point

The six-time Stanley Cup winner (last time in 2015) fell behind 1:2 against the Anaheim Ducks after just under 22 minutes, before Kurashev initiated the turnaround with the equalizer 94 seconds later. The 24-year-old used a cross from Bedard to make it 2-2. Early in the final third, Kurashev increased the lead to 6:2 with his 13th goal of the season on the power play and again on a pass from Bedard.

In between, the Swiss striker recorded his 100th NHL scoring point with a pass from Bedard, which made it 4-2. Kurashev can also get an assist at 7:2. This means he has 40 points from 59 games this season – another personal best.

Another loss for Moser’s Coyotes

It’s another disappointment for Janis Moser and the Arizona Coyotes. The Bernese defender suffered his team’s 40th defeat in the 66th game of the season as they lost 4-1 to the Minnesota Wild. (SDA)
