Things continue to run smoothly in Egypt for Marcel Koller (63). The Zurich coach won the next title with his Al Ahly team on Friday evening.

Thanks to a dramatic 2-0 win against El Zamalek, the Cairo team won the Egyptian Cup for the 39th time. The goals for Al Ahly to triumph in the final in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia came in the 84th minute (Emam Ashour) and in the fourth minute of extra time (Mohamed Magdy).

For Marcel Koller it is already the seventh title as coach of the Egyptian record champion. In addition to the two cup victories, Koller won the Super Cup three times (2022, 2023, 2024) and the CAF Champions League (22/23) with Al Ahly (22/23).

Besides, the Egyptian Cup trophy was awarded by many football celebrities. Before the final match, star coach José Mourinho (61), who currently has no club, carried the trophy onto the field. The Portuguese was accompanied by former stars Francesco Totti (47) and Ronaldo (47).
