Binta Ndiaye (19) was only stopped in the final of the Grand Prix in Linz in the 52 kg category by multiple Pan-American champion Larissa Pimenta from Brazil.

The daughter of a Senegalese father and a Swiss mother is considered a great talent. She won bronze in the 52kg class at the 2021 and 2022 Junior World Championships, as well as at the European Championships last September. At her second World Championship among adults, Ndiaye reached the round of 16 ten months ago.

Grand Prix are the most important tournaments in judo outside the World Championships and Olympic Games. In the men’s competition, Freddy Waizenegger was eliminated in the first round against Austrian Marcus Auer in the 66 kg class. (SDA)
