Colombian Santiago Buitrago wins the 4th stage of Paris-Nice.

Buitrago breaks away from his fellow escapee on the final climb to Mont Brouilly and celebrates a solo victory. In the battle for third place, the Dane Mathias Skjelmose narrowly has the upper hand over Remco Evenepoel.

The best of the Swiss quartet is Yannis Voisard. In 33rd place he lost just over four and a half minutes to the winner. The 25-year-old improved to 29th in the overall standings.

Evenepoel and Roglic are behind

Plapp takes over the leader’s jersey from American Brandon McNulty and leads stage winner Buitrago by 13 seconds. Evenepoel and the other big favorite for the overall victory, the Slovenian Primoz Roglic, are 30 seconds and 1:10 minutes behind the leader.

The fifth stage on Thursday runs over 193.5 km from Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut to Sisteron. (SDA)
