Ancelotti has a lot of difficulty with the Spanish legal system.

Carlo Ancelotti (64) risks several years in prison for tax fraud. The responsible public prosecutor in Madrid announced on Wednesday that it is demanding a prison sentence of four years and nine months against the Italian coach of the Spanish football record champion Real Madrid. The investigation against Ancelotti has been ongoing since 2020 and he had to appear in court for the first time last year.

The Public Prosecution Service accuses the star coach of not taxing the income from image rights generated in 2014. This is evident from a document from a court in the Spanish capital, seen by the AFP news agency. According to the tax authorities’ allegations, Ancelotti reported his salary as coach of Real Madrid in the 2014 tax year, but no income from his image rights or other related income.

Ancelotti is one of the most renowned coaches working today, having worked for Bayern Munich, Napoli, Paris St. Germain and Chelsea. Since 2021, he has returned to work as coach of Real Madrid, which he coached from 2013 to 2015. He recently extended his contract again until 2026. (AFP/dti)
