A month ago, Corinne Suter’s (29) season came to an abrupt end. In the descent of Cortina d’Ampezzo (It) she swerved after a jump in the upper part of the track and screamed in pain. Although she didn’t fall, Suter tore an ACL.

What followed was surgery, lots of tears and physio sessions. Now there is an update of the world champion (2021) and Olympic champion (2022) in the downhill. She takes a break with her boyfriend Angelo Alessandri and soothes her soul in the Maldives. “I took a break to give my body some rest and clear my mind,” Suter wrote on Instagram.

The sea is the perfect place for them. She was often able to regenerate her soul there. Suter is pleased with the progress she has made so far after her injury. “So far my knee feels good, but progress is slow,” writes the woman from Schwyz.

Spa treatments and shark workshop

Her daily program includes “a lot of water therapy, rehabilitation exercises and muscle stimulation.” Even during the holidays, she does it all with light rehabilitation measures.

But above all it means: relaxation. The two lovers enjoy “relaxing and traditional Maldivian spa treatments” or, as a special highlight, a romantic dinner on the beach. This is what the luxury resort where Suter and Alessandri stay during their holiday is known for. The two also attended a workshop on whale sharks – even though Suter cannot take part in the sea voyage due to her injury.

Suter replenishes her energy reserves with these unforgettable experiences. Because she needs it when “rehab fully begins” after she gets home.
