The women of SC Bern around captain Stefanie Marty (middle) climb from pole position to the play-offs of the Women’s League

While the men fight for a direct play-off place, the SCB women are doing better: the Bernese women won the home match against Dames Lugano 6-1 in the penultimate round and continue to lead the table with five points ahead of the ZSC Lions won against Davos by 4:1. Means: the qualifying victory has been won. Since December 2 and a 2-4 defeat in Zurich, the Bernese women have won eleven championship matches (plus the Swiss Cup) in a row.

Since Davos lost, the final decision was made during the play-offs. The semi-finals are Bern (1st) against Neuchâtel (4th) and ZSC Lions (2nd) against Ambri-Piotta (3rd).

Davos (5th), Freiburg (6th), Lugano (7th) and Langenthal (8th) are in the relegation round, with Langenthal having to overtake Lugano by eight points. The bottom team in the Women’s League contests league qualification against the NLB champions. (SDA)
