Xenia Schwaller leads the Grasshoppers team to World Cup gold.

The Swiss curlers led by Skip Xenia Schwaller win the junior world title in Lohja, Finland. In the final they defeated Japan 10:3.

The Grasshoppers curlers are the third Swiss winners of the World Championships, held since 1988, after the teams led by Silvana Tirinzoni in 1999 and Tanja Grivel in 2005. They are also only the third team in history to win all eleven World Cup competitions . games.

Xenia Schwaller is the daughter of former top curler Andreas Schwaller, Olympic bronze medalist in 2002 and European champion in 2006. (SDA)
