Dominic Zwerger (27) was involved in a car accident on Monday afternoon, HC Ambri-Piotta announced on Tuesday.
The Leventin attacker’s path was cut off by another driver, the communiqué said. A blessing in disguise: the Austrian international suffered no serious injuries. He will be absent for a few more days – and his condition will be assessed on a day-by-day basis.
Zwerger has been chasing goals for Ambri since 2017 and the Vorarlberg native has now established himself as a crowd favorite from Ticino. To date, he has played more than 320 games in the National League.
