Figures from the 24th round of the Super League round: several unsportsmanlike acts of FCZ players, YB performances are something to talk about

1/7
Conceicao, Okita, Jashari, Krasniqi, Haas and Mathew (from left) fight for the ball. The former repeatedly stands out during the game with unsportsmanlike behavior.

YB – SLO 1:0

On average, the scores of the bottom team are slightly higher than those of the winner. Because SLO sold extremely expensively into the lion’s den and narrowly missed a point. A converted penalty is missing. And because super talent Ismaël Gharbi missed him, he gets a four instead of a five. He had to shoot on the orders of coach Ricardo Dionisio. So there was no inadequacy. YB’s performance on the other hand was poor. Wherever you look in the stands, everyone says the team is playing below expectations. Super sub Cedric Itten, on the other hand, was convincing, but did not receive a grade because he did not play for half an hour. The best rated: Penalty killer from Ballmoos and the Lakomy initiative.

YB – SLO 1:0: Emergency brake? Flower red causes surprise(03:45)

Lucerne – FCZ 0:1

In the Swissporarena, Lucerne and Zurich actually neutralize each other the entire season. It’s a lucky shot that decides the game. And so winning goalscorer Antonio Marchesano should receive the best player award. For the rest, there are usually sufficient figures, but only a few outliers up or down. Yanick Brecher is in good form. The FCZ goalkeeper parries two dangerous FCL shots. Other than that there is not much for him and Pascal Loretz to do. The worst is Rodrigo Conceicao. But not because he is unconvincing in terms of playing. But because, as is so often the case, he attracts attention with his unsportsmanlike behavior. He repeatedly looks for foul rather than making a difference with his undoubted technical skills. That is a shame and unnecessary.

Lucerne – FC Zurich 0:1: Marchesano scored a lucky goal for FCZ in the 90th minute(03:11)

Napkin – Lugano 2:1

One clearly stands out as his foul completely changes the momentum of the game: Lugano’s Anto Grgic. During a counter-attack in Geneva, the midfielder tackles the leading Antunes from behind in the calf. Not malicious, but enough to hurt him at the high speed. Fortunately, that does not happen, but Grgic has to leave the field with a red card and watch as his depleted team gives away the 1-0 lead. The best scorer for Lugano goes to Mahmoud, who took the lead out of nowhere with a well-placed shot (11th).

With the winner Servette, three players, Antunes, Tsunemoto and Stevanovic, receive a five. The latter, best known as an assist king, scores himself this time and scores the important goal to make the score 1-1 (83rd). Antunes and Tsunemoto provide a lot of traction – this is especially evident in the counter-attack, in which Antunes Grgic runs away with the ball and can only be stopped by extremely unfair means.

Napkin – Lugano 2:1: Red, penalty – Geneva turns the game around in the last 10 minutes(03:24)

GC – Basel 2:1

GC dealt FC Basel a heavy blow in the line battle. Giotto Morandi excels among the record champions. The Ticino player first sets up Francis Momoh’s goal and then scores himself from the spot. Central defender Finn van Breemen in particular is a standout for the guests from the Rhine knee. The Dutchman was in trouble when he conceded the first goal, and he caused the second goal himself with a heavy foul on Fink in the penalty area.

GC – Basel 2:1: Precision work – Schmid’s goal is ultimately not enough(03:10)

St. Gallen – Winterthur 2:2

Since this summer, Luca Zuffi (33) has returned to playing where he made his debut at the age of 17: at FC Winterthur. And he does so in typical Zuffi style. Unobtrusive, but very effective and virtually flawless. His shifts in play in the 2-2 draw against FCSG are superb, with almost all of his left-footed passes finding a receiver. Shortly after the restart, he sent Fofana on with a beautiful ball and was responsible for the equalizer. Strong! However, in St. Gallen’s defensive midfield there is a man who – unlike Zuffi – is not at home there. And that produces passes in no man’s land instead of lethal passes.

But the weakest player on the field is Patrick Sutter. He also has to play in an unusual position in midfield, but has a weak evening. Only when he finished in the first half but did not put enough pressure behind the ball did the St. Gallen player come across positively. Substituted during half time. Jovan Milosevic has to leave the field even earlier. The only 18-year-old, who has technical skills despite his height of 192 centimeters, suffered a serious ankle injury after his first professional goal.

St. Gallen – Winterthur 2:2: The Keller flop ends Espen’s drought(03:28)

Lausanne – Yverdon 3:1

Lausanne literally tore Yverdon apart at times in the Vaud derby. YB loanee Donat Rrudhani stands out and has already scored two goals after two appearances for his new club. Goalkeeper Karlo Letica also contributed to the win, saving a penalty from Varol Tasar in the second half. At Yverdon, the two summer newcomers Dominic Corness and Liziero are among the absolute total failures.
