FC Aarau achieved their third win in their fourth match of the year. The team of suspended coach Alex Frei won 5-2 at home against Nyonnais in the 21st Challenge League round.
In the first 32 minutes, Valon Fazliu, Shkelqim Demhasaj and Milot Avdyli provided the decisive 3-0 lead in the first half. After the break, Fazliu scores again. Dugourd and De Pierro scored for Nyonnais before Touré scored in the 84th minute to make the final score 5–2.
Whether third-placed FC Aarau can still seriously dream of the barrage will be decided next Friday when FCA travels to FC Thun, which has a 13-point lead.
FC Wil is tied with Aarau in fourth place. The team from St. Gallen defeated Vaduz 1-0 thanks to a goal from Montolio and therefore also had an eye on the Barrageplatz. (SDA/mbi)
