Cristiano Ronaldo (39) imagined this evening differently. Three days after his birthday, the Portuguese lost the final of the Riyadh Season Cup to league rival Al-Hilal with Al-Nassr 0-2. Ronaldo doesn’t have to put up with the sport alone.
During the match he is repeatedly provoked by the opposing supporters with cries of “Messi, Messi”. The superstar reacts during the game: he addresses the fans and repeatedly points with his index finger to the ground and to his own chest. “I am Cristiano, not Messi,” the Portuguese calls to the stands.
Rubbing gesture from Ronaldo
But it doesn’t stop there. After the match and the mandatory surveillance for the winner Al-Hilal, a scandal breaks out. Ronaldo is on his way to the catacombs and is hit by an Al-Hilal scarf. Too much for the five-time world footballer. He picks up the scarf, sticks the scarf in his crotch, rubs it briefly and throws the scarf back on the stand.
Ronaldo had a good laugh before the match. Because none other than wrestling legend “The Undertaker” will present the trophy before the match. The 58-year-old American has actually been retired since 2020, but he is putting on his crypt outfit again for the well-paid gig in the desert state. As The Undertaker lifts the trophy, Ronaldo laughs heartily at the pompous appearance.
Almost two hours later, the Al-Nassr professional is visibly counted and the evening has a richer chapter with the scarf scandal. (jsl)
