Fanny Smith takes an involuntary break.

This weekend the Ski Cross World Cup takes place in Alleghe (Italy). Both men and women will participate in a race on Friday and Saturday.

2022 Olympic bronze medalist Fanny Smith (31) will not be at the start of the first race. As the woman from Vaud announced on Instagram, the reason for this was a heavy fall during training. “I tried to do a front flip, but it didn’t work…” she writes with a wink on a video showing the incident. She adds: “I won’t start in Alleghe today because I fell during training.”

Smith finished second at his home race in St. Moritz GR last weekend. “The knee is fine,” she added to her message. This has repeatedly caused her problems in the past. Nevertheless, some investigations are now underway. Smith remains unclear whether she will participate in the race on Saturday. “I’ll keep you informed,” she promises. (beer)
