Hockey players SCHC win top game from Amsterdam and remain undefeated

Ice hockey player SCHC also beat Amsterdam and remains leaders in the main league

The SCHC ice hockey players are unbeaten in the main league. They won 3-2 against Amsterdam, who lost for the first time this season. The Bilthoven-based club claimed their nineteenth consecutive win, the longest streak in club history.

It promised to be an exciting game from the outset as both the home team and Amsterdam had won the first seven games of the season. The goal difference determined the SCHC as table leader after seven rounds.

And these expectations were met in Bilthoven. SCHC started a little stronger than the guests from Amsterdam, but made some mistakes towards the end of the first quarter. A ball loss by Yibbi Jansen led to the opening goal. Freeke Moes finished flawlessly.

SCHC penalty corners

Jansen made up for the mistake that led to the 0:1 later in the game. She missed the first penalty corner for the SCHC, but the second one flew nicely into the intersection. Jansen was also responsible for the 2-1, which also fell from a penalty corner. This time the Amsterdam defense went for a low corner.

Earlier this week we spoke to Jansen, who is the eye-catcher at SCHC this season along with Pien Dicke and Ginella Zerbo:

Dicke again the radiant heart at SCHC: “I’m definitely on the way back”

However, the hosts could not sit back and relax. A little later the 2:2 was already in the goal. After a nice move by Stella van Gils, Felice Albers got the ball and the attacker knew how to deal with it. SCHC goalie Alexandra Heerbaart didn’t stand a chance against the orange national player’s bet.

Ginella Zerbo finally made sure that the SCHC left the field with the three points. Amsterdam didn’t get the ball away well, Zerbo was alert and fumbled the ball in.

Difficulties for Kampong

At the bottom of the rankings, Kampong keeps fighting. The Utrecht club, who have strengthened significantly this summer and wanted to fight for the play-off places, are in tenth place after eight rounds.

At home, Kampong lost 2-1 to HDM on Sunday.

In the men’s competition, Kampong earned a hard-fought victory over Pinoké. The guests from Utrecht won in Amstelveen with 3-4.

The spectators present got to see a nice game with many goals between the league leaders and the number six in the main league. Jip Janssen seemed to decide the game with a penalty corner. He made it 1-3 but Pinoké came back nicely to 3-3.

Duco Telgenkamp finally gave Kampong victory by scoring 3-4 in the closing stages.

The victory gave Kampong a five-point lead over number two Bloemendaal, who beat Oranje-Rood on Saturday.
