Real Madrid was the most profitable football club in the world last season. According to the annual study by accounting firm Deloitte, Madrid had a turnover of 831 million euros. In doing so, they pushed Champions League winner Manchester City out of first place, who collected 825.9 million euros.
They are followed by Paris Saint-Germain (801), FC Barcelona (800), Manchester United (745) and Bayern Munich (744). With Borussia Dortmund (420) and Eintracht Frankfurt (293), there are two other Bundesliga clubs among the twenty clubs with the highest turnover.
New record in billions
Together, the top 20 clubs generated a total turnover of more than ten billion euros for the first time. Compared to the previous season, this increased by 14 percent to 10.5 billion euros. Transfer proceeds are not included. The previous record was 9.3 billion euros from the 2018/19 season before the Corona crisis.
