Motorcycle racer Baganaia almost wins the world title after his seventh GP victory
Francesco Bagnaia is close to winning the MotoGP title. The 25-year-old Italian won the Malaysian GP on his Ducati and has a 23-point lead with one race to go.
The 25-year-old Bagnaia started from 9th place, but was already second after a good first lap. When leader Jorge Martín slipped off the track, his seventh win of the year seemed within reach.
However, Enea Bastianini wanted nothing to do with it. The Italian overtook his compatriot, but then there was a top meeting at Ducati. It was not entirely clear whether Bastianini received stable orders, but Bagnaia overtook him again and took the win in Kuala Lumpur.
For Bagnaia it was his seventh win of the season.
Bendsneythe fourteenth
In Moto2, Dutchman Bo Bendsneyder finished fourteenth. Japan’s Ai Ogura, who was leading the championship standings before the Malaysian GP, did not finish the race. He then saw Augusto Fernández take over.
Victory at the Malaysian GP in the Moto2 class went to Italy’s Tony Arbolino.
