Good news for Tudor Pro Cycling, the Swiss cycling team led by boss Fabian Cancellara (42): At this year’s Giro d’Italia, the team will be part of the field for the first time; they have accepted the invitation of the organizers.

It will be the first Grand Tour for Tudor, so the joy is enormous. “It’s an extremely proud moment for me and the whole team,” said Cancellara. The 2008 and 2016 Olympic time trial champion describes the Giro as an ‘iconic race’ that always produces fantastic duels. “I have great memories of the Giro, even though I was never able to win.”

“A logical development”

CEO Raphael Meyer is also looking forward to the tour of Italy, which will take place between May 4 and 26: “The invitation is a great recognition of the work we have done since entering the professional world last year.” It is of course a big step forward for a young team, “but for us it is a logical development”.

The Swiss team, founded in 2018 under the name Swiss Racing Academy, has had a professional license since 2023. In 2020, three-time Paris-Roubaix winner Cancellara joined. The Swiss Sébastien Reichenbach, Tom Bohli, Simon Pellaud, Yannis Voisard, Robin Froidevaux and Roland Thalmann drive for the Tudor team.
