Cross-country skiing
In the first World Cup race since her strong performance in the Tour de Ski, Beda Klee finished 12th over a 20 km classic in Oberhof. The 27-year-old from Toggenburg lost only 8.4 seconds to winner Erik Valnes from Norway. Martin Löwström Nyenget, Paal Goldberg and Mattis Stenshagen in second to fourth places completed the Norwegian triumph. The other Swiss reached places 46 (Jason Rüesch), 50 (Nicola Wigger) and 61 (Jonas Baumann).
Snowboarding
In the parallel slalom in Pamporovo, Julie Zogg took 7th place as the best Swiss woman. The 31-year-old world champion, who is still waiting for her first podium finish after seven World Cup races this season, failed in the quarter-finals against eventual winner Ester Ledecka.
