Berghuis shows weak Ajax with two goals and a nice assist in Waalwijk

Check out the summary of RKC Waalwijk – Ajax

League leaders Ajax were embarrassed by RKC Waalwijk for half a year, but brought order in the second half: 1:4. Steven Berghuis signed for the Amsterdam team’s first two goals and showed his team the way.

As if Ajax were to visit Napoli again, RKC sometimes played Alfred Schreuder’s team off the mat in the first half. After a lob by Michiel Kramer, the home fans celebrated the 1-0, which was disallowed for offside.

Ajax then took the lead through Steven Berghuis. The left leg launched the attack itself with the outside foot and fired in after the intervention of Jurriën Timber and Steven Bergwijn.

Pay for working at RKC

After Ajax’s opportunities for Brian Brobbey and Davy Klaassen, RKC were handed a working wage five minutes before the break. Kramer crossed from the left and former Ajax player Pelle Clement tapped in. The frustration was particularly noticeable with Daley Blind. He was booked for persistent comments about the arbitration.

  • Kramer cheers at 1:1
  • Berghuis celebrates his 0:1
  • Kramer praises Pasveer
  • Brobbey hits the net for his second

Blind was left in the dressing room at half-time, as was Edson Álvarez. Owen Wijndal and Florian Grillitsch were her substitutes. It really was Mandemakers Stadium and not Stadio Diego Armando Maradona as it turned out at the time. Whether motivated by a thunderous speech from Schreuder or not, it was a different game in the second half.

Berghuis put Ajax ahead again with a beautiful volley and Brobbey scored the third goal after turning wide from Shawn Adwoye. After a nice pass from the outside left to Berghuis, Brobbey made it 4-1 with his second goal.
