Hulst secures Fortuna’s first home win with a hat trick
Fortuna Sittard footballers have managed to win a home game in a competitive game for the first time. The Eredivisie debutant beat direct rivals ADO Den Haag 3-0 to move up to fourth place.
It looked like an interesting duel. In the ranking list, the two teams only narrowly separated by one point. New signing Fortuna appear to want to make things difficult for the Eredivisie top-3, a role that has been largely reserved for ADO Den Haag in recent seasons.
Triple charm
Still, it took more than twenty minutes for anything to happen at Fortuna Sittard’s stadium. Charlotte Hulst tried to open the score but shot wide. A few minutes later, the attacker was a little closer to scoring, but this time the ball landed over the crossbar via ADO keeper Barbara Lorsheyd.
After more than half an hour of play, it was still a direct hit for the home team. At the request of Belgium international Tessa Wullaert, Hulst was allowed to moor again. This time she found the short corner. She scored the first Eredivisie goal for Fortuna Sittard.
Hattrick Hulst
After the opening goal, the hosts rained down chances, but it was not until after the break before the goal was doubled. Again it was Hulst who scored the goal. Shortly before the end, the 19-year-old attacker completed her hat-trick with the 3-0 final score.
