On December 26, the boxing spectacle can be seen all day long in the Kursaal Bern and live on Blick on Swiss Boxing Day. Arbnor Jashari (23) was also going to fight, but a few days before the fight the Swiss tore a bone in his left hand.
Particularly bitter: Jashari suffered the injury during the last sparring session of the three-month preparation. He announced on Instagram on Thursday: “I successfully completed my training camp and have never felt as fit as I do now!” However, the injury prevented him from participating in the battle. But the 23-year-old immediately looks ahead: “I will come back stronger than ever.”
Treatment without surgery?
On Boxing Day, Jashari (four professional fights, four wins) would have fought Indian Rakesh Lohchab (26, 19 professional fights, 15 wins, three losses, one draw). “Since it is not a title fight, but rather a build-up fight, we do not want to risk anything,” trainer Angelo Gallina told Blick. Yet it is of course very bitter if, after a long preparation, you get injured so close to the fight.
According to Gallina, they will now try to heal the injury with just a plaster cast. If this is not enough, surgery will be performed. (bjl)
