In the new edition of the last World Cup final, they defeated Norway 31:28 and took revenge for the defeat two years ago. It was the fourth meeting between these two countries in a World Cup final within twelve years.
For co-host and four-time world champion Norway, it was the fifth defeat in a World Cup final, the second against France after 2017.
