Nico Hischier scores twice for the New Jersey Devils in Calgary.

After eleven wins in a row, the Los Angeles Kings had to admit defeat on the road for the first time this season. The New York Islanders secured the 3-2 victory thanks to a goal from Canadian center Jean-Gabriel Pageau after 13 seconds of overtime.

With eleven victories on foreign ice at the start of a season, the Kings had set a league record. Another success would have tied the record for an entire season. It initially looked like the Kings would win again after two thirds: Kevin Fiala delivered two crucial passes, including a beautiful one in the power play, that gave the team a 2-0 lead after 40 minutes. For the Eastern Swiss player it was the scorer points 400 and 401 in the 550th game in the NHL.

Josi loses

Nico Hischier has also played just over 400 games in the best ice hockey league in the world. The captain of the New Jersey Devils celebrated his team’s third win in a row in Calgary. He contributed the 4:2 to the 1:1 and the Empty Netter to the final score.

A defeat after three straight wins saw the other Swiss captain drop out of the NHL. Roman Josi lost 4-0 to the Nashville Predators in Toronto. Auston Matthews scored twice for the Canadiens, while Josi left the ice with a minus-3 record. (SDA)
