Cross-country skiing in Östersund
The Norwegian men dominated the 10km run in Östersund with a five-way win and seven runners in the top 9. In the individual start skating competition, the time differences also made people sit up and pay attention. Thanks to the great internal competition, the Norwegians not only have a top physical level, but they also have excellent material on their feet. The winner is Harald Östberg Amundsen.
The best ranking for a Swiss driver when Harald Östberg Amundsen won was Candide Pralong in 38th, Beda Klee in 41st, Cyril Fähndrich 42nd and Valerio Grond 71st (SDA)
Diggins extends lead
32-year-old Jessie Diggins extended her lead in the overall World Cup. The all-rounder from the USA won the 10 km race with an individual start in the free technique in Östersund. Anja Weber represented the Swiss colors in 35th place. Nadine Fähndrich was, just like the day before, absent from the sprint due to illness.
biathlon
Even without the ill Niklas Hartweg, the Swiss men showed an appealing result with the relay in Hochfilzen. Gion Stalder, who came after Hartweg’s retirement, crossed the finish line in 7th. He also took over this position after the preparatory work of Sebastian Stalder, Joscha Burkhalter and Jeremy Finello. The Swiss quartet lost four minutes to victorious Norway.
