The Swiss women’s floorball team reached the semi-finals of the World Cup in Singapore.

The Swiss national women’s team defeated Slovakia 8-4 in the quarter-finals of the World Floorball Championships in Singapore to advance to the semi-finals.

After just 1:49, the Swiss had a dream start with Nathalie Spichiger’s goal. However, they then leave the field to their opponents, which turns out to be the wrong tactic. The Slovaks became stronger and equalized ten minutes later through Kristina Belicova. It remains the only downer. As a result, Switzerland appears more insensitive and underlines this with renewed leadership.

Tone in the middle third

In the second third, the women’s national team finally starts to show off. They scored five goals and secured the preliminary decision. The Slovaks can celebrate again, but as we know that is not enough to make up for the deficit in the final third.

On Saturday we continue in the semi-finals against the reigning world champion from Sweden. They sent the Latvians home 13-3 in their quarter-finals. And yet you bring a lot of self-confidence into the game, says Nati player Nathalie Spichiger to SRF. Swiss Way coach David Jansson, who is responsible for the future sporting direction of Swiss floorball, is also clear about the match against the Swedes: “We have to create the best possible chances against every opponent.” (Gentlemen)
