The Los Angeles Kings defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4:3 in overtime and maintained their undefeated streak as the host team in the current championship. With their tenth win in a row, they set the record of the Buffalo Sabers from the 2006/2007 season.
The Kings keep the series alive thanks to a miraculous turnaround. After two thirds they are 0:3 behind. Double goal scorer Phillip Danault and the Uzbek Arthur Kalijew made up for the deficit within six and a half minutes in the third period. Kevin Fiala (27) prepares the Canadian’s second goal. His compatriot Drew Doughty took the decision after 33 seconds of extra time.
Josi defeats Kurashev
Roman Josi (33) is also a winner in passing. The Bernese assists the Canadian Ryan O’Reilly in the 4:3 after a penalty shootout of the Nashville Predators at the Chicago Blackhawks with Philipp Kurashev (24) to level the score at 3:3 in the second third.
The win moves the Predators closer to the playoff spots, while the Blackhawks are now the weakest team in the league on points after their fourth straight loss.
Siegenthaler with assist on the anniversary
Jonas Siegenthaler (26) played a special game with the New Jersey Devils in a 6:5 away win against the Vancouver Canucks. The Zurich defender is playing in the NHL for the 300th time. Siegenthaler celebrates his anniversary with a goalscorer. In the first third he provided Jesper Bratt with the assist to make it 1-0. Nico Hischier (24) is involved in the Swede’s second goal. The Valais served Bratt for the decisive goal 34 seconds before the end.
The Canucks are playing again without the injured Pius Suter (27). The striker last played more than three weeks ago. He has missed 11 games since then. (SDA)
