She is the only Swiss all-rounder at the World Championships, a two-time combined Olympic champion and she has had a winter to forget: Michelle Gisin. The Engelberg woman turns 30 on Tuesday. It’s high time Blick asked 30 questions.
1. Do you bake your own birthday cake?
Michelle Gisin: No Unfortunately not. Due to the tight racing calendar I can count on my mother and my Gotti.
2. What are you planning on your birthday?
I’m traveling to St. Moritz. And hopefully another cross-country ski trail in Engelberg tomorrow morning if there is enough time.
3. What wishes do you have for the future?
To stay in good health.
4. What previous birthday do you remember?
Not explicitly, but that I always wanted to go skiing and am still waiting for a World Cup competition on my birthday.
5. What do you really want to do when you’re 30?
Have fun.
6. What was the most beautiful moment in your life?
I am very fortunate to have had to think about this question for a long time. The successes of Luca and my siblings, my first giant slalom podium, my Olympic medals – but probably the births of my niece and nephew are winning now.

The suffering of innocent people.

The American singer Pink.
9. What did you always want to tell your friend Luca de Aliprandini through a look?
You’re an asshole!” (laughs)

When my siblings Marc and Dominique, who were also professionals, fell. And if Luca falls in Adelboden in 2022.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. I think I have a few questions. (smiles)

14. Which app do you think is particularly cool?
Facetime.
15. What era would you like to see with your own eyes?
The antique.

When Luca cooks risotto. Simply delicious.
17. What would you like to master?
Playing tennis is going very well.
18. How strong is your forehand?
Worse than my bad backhand.
19. What is the most beautiful World Cup location?
Lake Louise in Canada – unfortunately removed from the calendar.
20. When was the last time you cried?
Phew, that was a long time ago. Probably once or again last winter.
21. What will you never be able to live without?
I like dark chocolate the best.
22. Have you ever experienced something really embarrassing?
Yes, constantly.
23. What superpower would you like to have?
To be able to heal.

Probably too often, if you ask me. (laughs)

Skiing and baking.
30. And in 30 years?
Hopefully some more skiing and baking!
