Thanks to two goals in the last ten seconds, the biggest World Cup victory for a Swiss national women’s team was ultimately achieved. The previous record, a 21-1 win against Russia in St. Gallen, dates back to December 2011.

The team of national coach Oscar Lundin (35) will continue on Friday as group winners behind Finland with the quarter-finals against an opponent that has not yet been determined and who must qualify through a round of 16. The mandatory victory expected there will most likely be followed by the match against defending champions and top favorites Sweden. (che/SDA)
