They are the benchmark of everything in men’s curling: the Scots around Skip Bruce Mouat. Since becoming world champions for the first time in April this year, they have now won three major championships in a row. This means they replace Edin’s Swedish team as the world’s best team, which they defeated 6:5 after the extra end in the final.

The losers of the European Championship tournament are the up-and-coming Italians led by Skip Joël Retornaz. They won all nine round robin matches, but ultimately only finished in 4th place behind the Swiss bronze formation led by Skip Yannick Schwaller. (SDA/mou)
