OGC Nice professional Youcef Atal was temporarily arrested by French police on Friday. On October 16, an investigation had already been launched against the Algerian international for “glorifying terrorism” by Hamas.
Atal had shared a pastor’s post on social media but quickly deleted it and apologized. The French Public Prosecution Service nevertheless investigated – partly because of the “call to hatred or violence based on a certain religion”.
