The last time an equestrian world championship took place was 17 years ago in Aachen, the Mecca of equestrian sports. At that time, 576,000 spectators watched the matches on site.

The awards ceremony for Aachen 2026 took place at the FEI world association congress in Mexico, where Michel Sorg, the outgoing head of the show jumping team and future CEO of Swiss Equestrian, was elected to the Jumping Committee. (SDA)
