Aachen will host the 2026 World Equestrian Championships in six disciplines. From August 10 to 23, show jumping riders, dressage riders, eventing riders, drivers, vaulting riders and para-dressage riders will compete for titles and medals in the Soers.
The last time an equestrian world championship took place was 17 years ago in Aachen, the Mecca of equestrian sports. At that time, 576,000 spectators watched the matches on site.
The awards ceremony for Aachen 2026 took place at the FEI world association congress in Mexico, where Michel Sorg, the outgoing head of the show jumping team and future CEO of Swiss Equestrian, was elected to the Jumping Committee. (SDA)
