Jannik Sinner (22) is the first finalist at the ATP Finals in Turin. In the semi-finals he defeated the Russian Daniil Medvedev (27) 6:3, 6:7 (4:7), 6:1. He is the first Italian ever to reach the final of the year-end tournament.
Despite the unfortunate loss of the second set, the fourth in the world rankings is not bothered. After two and a half hours, the 22-year-old scored his first match point.
Sinner’s final opponents are Novak Djokovic (36), whom he already defeated in the group stage, and Carlos Alcaraz (20) on Saturday evening (9 p.m.). (mab)
