On Friday, Philipp Studhalter (48) will stand for re-election as president of the Swiss Football League (SFL). He led the nine-member SFL committee for two years. He would only like to be re-elected by the General Assembly for the next term.

Studhalter’s chances are good. He is the only candidate. This despite the fact that his former employer FC Luzern, where he was president and CEO, reported him. But the ad doesn’t seem to be causing controversy in the league.

Criminal prosecution is hardly a problem

“The SFL is advised that there is a legal dispute.” She doesn’t want to take a stand. It sounds the same if you ask the committee members. No one wants to comment publicly. However, some people secretly explain that the criminal complaint has hardly been discussed so far and that Studhalter is seen as an efficient and pleasant president.

In Lucerne you hear again and again that Studhalter knows how to please people. People close to the club describe him as someone who can fascinate people. That’s why everyone in his time trusted him blindly.

Back to the upcoming general meeting: Following the election of the President, the remaining eight positions on the SFL Commission will be reappointed. There are nine candidates to choose from. In addition to the previous Michele Campana (Lugano), David Degen (Basel), Urs Egger (independent member), Wanja Greuel (YB) and Matthias Hüppi (St.Gallen), Patrick Burgmeier (Vaduz), Sandro Burki (Aarau) and Tiziano are new candidates Sorrenti (Xamax) and Vincent Steinmann (Lausanne-Sport).
