Nino Niederreiter triumphs in the duel against the Swiss faction of the Devils 6:3.

Nino Niederreiter (31) and the Winnipeg Jets won the Swiss game against the New Jersey Devils 6:3. It is Winnipeg’s fourth win in the last five games. Niederreiter has no involvement with the goal; for once the focus is on others.

The Dane Nikolaj Ehlers, the son of the well-known Swiss coach Heinz Ehlers and currently working for Visp in the Swiss league, scored twice, just like the American Kyle Conners. Meanwhile, Canadian defender Josh Morrissey set up four of the six goals.

The Devils, who start with Akira Schmid (23) in goal, have to do without captain Nico Hischier (24) for the seventh game in a row due to his upper body injury. There is at least one success report from a Swiss perspective for the Devils: Timo Meier (27) scores his 5th goal of the season. The Appenzell team reduced the deficit to 1:2 in the second third.

Josi loses for the fourth time in a row

The Nashville Predators are still stuck. The team of Roman Josi (33) lost 2-3 to the Anaheim Ducks in their own country, despite a two-goal lead. The Bernese made it 2-0 in the power play in the second period. After their fourth straight loss, the Predators are now the third-worst team in the Western Conference.

Janis Moser (23) also has to leave the ice as a loser. The Bieler and the Arizona Coyotes lost 3:4 to the Dallas Stars after extra time. Moser acts as one of the passers as Jason Zucker makes it 2-2 midway through the third period. (SDA/sbe)
