The MotoGP title battle continues to intensify. After the sprint in Sepang, Jorge Martin is only eleven points behind world champion and championship leader Francesco Bagnaia.
After five sprint victories in a row, Martin has to admit defeat again in the race over the short distance at the Malaysian Grand Prix. In second place, the Spaniard on a Ducati keeps his brand colleague and great rival Bagnaia under control. The Italian, who started from pole position, has to settle for third place.
The victory goes to Spaniard Alex Marquez. The younger brother of toppled eight-time world champion Marc Marquez triumphed from fourth on the grid to take his second sprint victory of the season, after August’s in Great Britain.
The third-last Grand Prix of the season starts on Sunday at 8:00 am Swiss time. (SDA)
