RKC are knocked out of the cup after a painful loss to De Hitler’s amateurs

RKC Waalwijk regretted defeat in the first round of the KNVB Cup against the amateurs of De Schlags. In Groesbeek, the Eredivisionist lost 2-0.

RKC started with a pretty strong starting XI against De Hits, but struggled from the first minute. It was thanks to the hard-playing goalkeeper Joel Pereira that Waalwijk didn’t find out very early.

Fifteen minutes into the game, Gavin Vlijter scored the opening goal. Then RKC took the initiative, but De Schlags remained the most dangerous. Only Mika Biereth, who recently scored his first Eredivisie goals, came close to 1-1 before half-time.

Nice free kick

RKC continued to hunt for an equalizer after the break, but after an hour of play Brian Campman made it 2-0 with a nice free-kick. It was actually the final blow for RKC that was too difficult creating opportunities for Dehits to falter.

For example, RKC flies out of the cup tournament in the first round. And that while the club is doing very well in the Eredivisie this season – finishing seventh after ten games.
