Everything has been prepared for the spectacle in the sold-out Frankfurt stadium (50,023 fans). The reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs challenges the offensive monster Miami Dolphins.
A man who knows both teams well is Tyreek Hill (29). The Dolphins wide receiver played for the Chiefs until 2021 and won Super Bowl LIV with the Missouri team.
In Frankfurt, ‘Cheetah’, as Hill is called because of his speed, remains largely pale. Anyway, the dolphins from warm Florida have trouble starting in cold Frankfurt. Kansas quarterback Mahomes increased the lead to 14-0 with touchdown passes to rookie Rice and veteran McKinnon in the first and second quarters.

Shortly before the break, the focus is on superstar and ex-Chief Hill. Chiefs cornerback McDuffie knocks the football out of the wide receiver’s hand, teammate Edwards picks up the ball and throws it to Cook. The safety runs into the end zone and scores a defensive touchdown. The Chiefs led 21-0 at halftime – a slap in the neck for the best offense in the league.
Miami comes out of the break with anger in its stomach. First, Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa throws a touchdown to wide receiver Wilson, then the Dolphins defense forces a turnover – and running back Mostert cuts the lead to 14:21. The tension is back. The extra time is already haunting the full stadium. In the end, Tagovailoa’s nerves failed, he stifled his receiver at the dumbest moment and Kansas won the first NFL game in Frankfort.

Star quarterback Mahomes’ strong first half is enough for the Kansas City Chiefs to secure an important victory in this AFC matchup. Kansas improves its record to 7-2 (7 wins and 2 losses), while the Dolphins are now 7-3.
Next Sunday, the Deutsche Bahn Park in Frankfurt will be transformed into an American football temple again, when the Indianapolis Colts play against the New England Patriots. (jsl)
