Yverdon will have to play the next five Super League matches without Christopher Lungoyi (23). The striker (two goals) has been suspended by the league for another four games.
The reason for this was “unsportsmanlike behavior with gestures and words” towards referee Nico Gianforte (30) after the final whistle in the 1-1 draw against FC Winterthur. The 23-year-old was previously sent off the field with a yellow and red card. He picked up the first yellow card in a platoon after an unsportsmanlike action, and the second card after a swallow.
The Swiss-Congolese dual national has now received four competition bans for his behavior; Lungoyi will serve his first yellow-red suspension on Sunday against Basel (4:30 p.m.). The residents of Vaud can appeal the punishment in the next two days. (ch)
