A week after FCZ’s strong performance in Bern against YB, little fits in the home match against Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy: coach Bo Henriksen is amazed.

“It was a bad first half for us. Was this the worst half of the entire season? I don’t know,” says FCZ coach Bo Henriksen after the disappointing 1-1 draw in Letzigrund against newly promoted Stade-Lausanne-Ouchy. “We are disappointed, we have to win games like this. “Especially in a home game,” adds the Dane.

Before the SLO match, the leader’s coach wanted to put pressure on pursuer YB and extend the lead to five points at least overnight. But now the champions can catch up on Sunday despite having one game less.

Henriksen folds his team during the break

The Zurich team is so unable to get up to speed against SLO that their dream streak is broken: FCZ has never been behind since the start of the season, and now Ismael Gharbi puts an end to this nimbus with his goal. After 1014 minutes, Zurich fell behind for the first time this season.

Jonathan Okita equalized shortly before halftime with a foul penalty. Nevertheless: during the break the walls in the FCZ cabin vibrate. “Maybe I got loud,” Henriksen says meaningfully, which observers can vividly imagine since his public outburst during the break last season in Lucerne.

But the Dane’s message gets across. After the break, only Zurich plays. The downside: the winning goal is no longer scored. “You can sometimes fall behind, but the way it happened was frustrating,” Henriksen said. «We lacked basic things like passion, energy and strength. I made it clear during the break that without these things it wouldn’t work.”

SLO coach Braizat received a yellow-red card after the final whistle

But Henriksen’s counterpart Anthony Braizat is concerned about the bang at the end. The Lausanne coach received a yellow-red card after the final whistle for complaining. The hot-blooded Frenchman after the match: “Those were emotions. There are a lot of little things in every game that leave us without control over our emotions. I have to learn from that, because as a coach I have to keep my emotions under control.”

What was Braizat most angry about? “I’m sure Afriyie’s elbow to Akichi was red. Conversely, we would certainly have received a red card and four suspensions.” But referee Turkes and the VAR do not see it as violence when SLO-Akichi tries to push the FCZ striker away from goalkeeper Da Silva for a corner kick, after which Afriyie breaks free with his elbow. However, Braizat is now banned: “This is my punishment. Very easy.”
