After a slow start to the season from a Swiss perspective with few goals, the scoring machine in North America is now slowly starting to turn. Niederreiter is also celebrating his goal-scoring debut this season: he contributed a goal and an assist in the Winnipeg Jets’ 4-1 away win over the Detroit Red Wings.

The 31-year-old from Graubünden has to wait until the last minute before scoring for the first time in the seventh game of the season. Niederreiter played three playoff games for HC Davos as a 16-year-old, moved to North America as a 17-year-old and scored his first NHL goal as an 18-year-old with the New York Islanders in October 2010.
