Haaser’s goal is to be fit again for the races in the US and Canada by the end of November. Last season, the woman from Innsbruck was the best Austrian with 15th place in the overall giant slalom rankings. Haaser won the bronze medal at the World Championships in France in February.

The Ski World Cup starts on the weekend of October 28 and 29 with the first races on the Rettenbach Glacier above Sölden. (jsl)
