Fabienne Humm ends her career with the national team after eleven years.

Swiss footballer Fabienne Humm (36) ends her career in the national team after 80 games and 25 goals. “It fills me with great pride that I have been able to experience so much with the national team over the years,” Humm said in a statement from the Swiss Football Association.

She played her first match on May 26, 2012 against Ireland at the age of 25. She was also there when the national team qualified for the 2015 World Cup in Canada. It was the first participation in the World Cup of a Swiss national women’s team. She also achieved something historic in the second group match against Ecuador with the fastest hat trick at a Women’s World Cup.

In 2017, Humm also played at the European Championships in the Netherlands. Shortly afterwards, she announced her first resignation from the Nati. Two years later, at the request of Nati coach Nils Nielsen (51), she celebrated her comeback – with success. The attacking player featured in two major events at the 2022 European Championship in England and the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Her last match was in the World Cup round of 16 against Spain in the summer (1:5).

A long club career is behind him

She started her career at club level in 1994 with FC Windisch. After seven years at the Aargau regional club, Humm moved to FC Sursee before returning to her childhood club after one season.

Shortly before her twentieth birthday she switched to FC Schlieren. She played there for three years and during that time attracted the attention of FC Zürich. At the age of 22, she finally moved to FCZ and has remained loyal to them to this day. (Gentlemen)
