Rafael Nadal’s comeback plan is ready.

Since January 18 of this year and his three-set defeat against Mackenzie McDonald (USA) in the second round of the Australian Open, 23-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal (37) has no longer been on the tennis court due to hip problems. Surgery finally followed in June, which left the 22-time Grand Slam winner out of action for months.

Now the Mallorcan mainly wants to return to the tour in Australia. As tournament director Craig Tiley confirmed to “nine.com,” Nadal will celebrate his comeback about a year after his last match. “We’re really happy, it’s unbelievable,” Tiley said.

At the first Grand Slam tournament of the year, Nadal made tennis history in 2022 when he won his 21st major title. The 37-year-old is now 22 years old, but was overtaken by his eternal rival Novak Djokovic (36) at the French Open. (mo)
