The single judge opened regular proceedings against Ajoie coach Christian Wohlwend (46) due to a possible violation of the principles of conduct in the rules of procedure. This is because the player from Bunden was noticed by disrespectful gestures towards Friborg coach Christian Dubé (46), as stated in the official competition announcement.

“If I’m not good, I’ll be tortured”

Wohlwend started shortly before the end on Friday evening against Fribourg (1:3) and gesticulating wildly shouted unpleasant words in the direction of Dubé, which was also fully captured by the TV cameras. The sequence shows him making fun of his opponent’s hair. The way he rubs his eyes like he’s crying. And keeps shouting: “Where is your suit?”

Wohlwend’s statements are supported

The next day, Wohlwend defended himself against Blick: “It wasn’t that I was the only one shouting, Dubé was just as involved. This went back and forth between us. Dubé also got much closer to our couch than I did to hers. But the camera only shows me during the whole incident, only him when it was over and we were both calm again.”

The audio track of the video that has now been released confirms Wohlwend’s statements. An irritated Christian Dubé can also be heard on this. He just can’t be seen. Nevertheless, given the current state of affairs, the question arises as to why only one case has been opened against Wohlwend and not against both coaches involved.

Wohlwend also admitted to Blick that he was angry that Dubé tried to influence the referees throughout the match and called for penalties for Ajoie players. This was the origin of the wild war of words.
