Kriens-Luzern takes part in the handball championship for the first time this season with their playmaker Andy Schmid – and wins the duel against Scout Winterthur with 30:28.
Andy Schmid was closing in on the championship. He scored four goals from six attempts, one in the first half and three in the closing stages. Schmid also made three technical fouls.
Kriens-Luzern certainly deservedly won against Scout Winterthur. The Winterthur team led only twice (5:4 and 6:5). Kriens-Luzern answered the 5:6 deficit after ten minutes with five goals in a row to make the score 10:6. After that, Scout Winterthur only managed to come within one goal of Lucerne (18:19).
In the rankings, Kriens-Luzern is three points behind leader and champion Kadetten Schaffhausen. The Cadets maintained their undefeated streak this season with a 39:28 victory over Chênois Genève. Wacker Thun also passed the play-off barrier with a 22:20 win over Suhr Aarau. (SDA)
